I am a lover of Bluegrass music but I also love many other forms including Irish folk and modern rock, which is where Jack White "comes from". Jack White is the founder, along with Meg White, of a modern rock band called The White Stripes and he was a featured vocalist (oddly enough) on the Cold Mountain Soundtrack. He sang Wayfaring Stranger very well, I thought, with Norman Blake on guitar and did an EXCELLENT version of Great High Mountain which is more old timey than bluegrass. However, many are not accepting of him. He also had a small part in the movie as one of the musicians. Jack White very recently produced Loretta Lynn's recent album called ...something...Rose. I think it is to his credit that he trying to introduce Miss Loretta back to the younger generations. But anyway, that is who Jack White is. And I think he has a very unique voice.
