Carter would reply, "Do you mean you still haven't found the way to Little Rock? Say...you're kinda slow at....uh....catchin' on, ain't you?" And Ralph, in a slow drawl, "Uuuuh, yeah, boy!" And Carter, "Well, I'll tell ye, Tennessee Mort. It's three lengths of a fool, and if you don't believe me, let Curly Lambert lay down and measure it." Sounds goofy, and it was goofy, but they were good at it, and it was charming, and funny and nice. They were nice people, in that old fashioned, wholesome way that people don't seem to have time for these days!
