It is truly said that, "The wheels of justice grind slow, but they grind
exceedingly small."
I like to imagine that, somewhere in the shadows of the stage last night,
just out of sight, stood the spirits of the late Carter Stanley, Bill
Monroe, A.P. Carter and Mother Maybelle, and all the other great singers
and musicians who came down from the mountains to travel from town to town
to sing for the people, and to enter the earliest recording studios to save
all the beautiful songs they wrote and played, and all the songs passed
down to them by their families, and forebears, assuring that the wonderful
sounds of mountain music would be preserved for the future.
Heartfelt congratulations and thanks to Mr. Stanley.
