Tim here.  In addition to the other replies on the list, I've found
PDF-to-X converters useful, whether that's pdftotext to convert them
to plain-text, or pdftohtml to create HTML (it's not the best HTML)
and then view that in the browser (including lynx or other CLI
browsers)
