They are non-official as is: non-free is not part of Debian.

That's the uneasy middle-ground that Debian uses between the GNU
approach which is to ban firmwares entirely (to the point of refusing
to say that they exist), and installing non-free firmware by default
without the user being aware at all that non-free firmware are a concern
for our freedom.
