I haven't gotten a game to work yet so I wish I could answer that for you. :)

Also my question never got answered. Is accessibility mode supposed to read the game menus? Or are you supposed to use this AI mode. because I loaded a PS one game that should work. Because I can see the menu with NVDAOCR. And the game reads nothing to me.

For configuring input, go to the settings menu, to the right of the main menu, and arrow down to input. Configure game controllers in the “port 1” menu, and same for any other controllers in port2 and so on. If you mean Retroarch hotkeys, do that in the hotkeys bind menu. For configuring controls for individual cores, open the menu within a game using F1, and navigate to input or controls or something like that. I’ve not had any audio stuttering issues. Maybe check the drivers menu in settings?

Not sure if my below post regarding audio was lost in the sea of replies, however I am having major audio stuttering and static issues as well as not sure where to actually add keyboard inputs for various controls of the roms.

*Subject:*Re: [blind-gamers] RetroArch accessibility & Windows10
Retroarch allows one to use many different emulators in a unified, and now accessible, way. For general info, see https://www.retroarch.com <https://www.retroarch.com/>. For the accessibility part, see https://www.libretro.com/index.php/retroarch-1-8-2-coming-soon-accessibility-features-for-blind-people/. It does take some setting up, but that only took me a good 20 minutes to configure the Xbox controller, AI service key, and get a game up and going. Emulators themselves in Retroarch can be downloaded from the online updater, in the “update cores” section, where you’ll find a List of systems to get. Then, load your game from the “load content section from the main menu.

Also, make sure you go to online updater, then Core updater,
and press Enter on the core for the system you want, like
Sony PSP: PPSSPP, to get it. Then you can load the game for it.

You simply load the ROM file. For example, if
the game is Mortal Kombat, on a Nintendo 64, the
file might be called mortal kombat.Z64. If it
were a PSP game, it’d be Mortal Kombat.iso. So,
just find what the ROM is called in file
explorer, and load that. If the ROM has many
files, like the Play Station games, load the
.cue file. What game for what system are you
                    trying to load?

Okay, so for where to put ROMs, you can put them
anywhere, just find that location when you “load content” which is how you load
games. Once you load it for the first time, though, you can arrow left and
you’ll find the recent games in the “horizontal menu.

For OCR, you must set up the AI service, and set a
key, or game controller press of a button or multiple buttons, to activate it.
It is similar to OCR in screen readers.

                                        Hi,

When I installed Retroarch, I pressed
Alt+Enter on the desktop shortcut

that was created. Then, in the target
box, I added the word

--accessibility to the end of the
target path. This worked for me.

The OCR seems to be in real  time.

I could use a lot of advice though on
how to install and/or load Rom's,

etc. since perhaps Roms is a bit of a
touchy subject, If anyone can

it would be great? Folks can

I think an absolute beginners tutorial
or podcast specifically devoted

to those of us using Accessibility,
maybe taking a person through the

                                        initial install, configuration, and
installing and running a Rom would

be a nice thing to have? Especially
since this is very new for many of us.
