very tough to survive. Only once did I find any decent weapons and the compass sooner than later gets me into trouble when I follow it. Another problem is only cardinal movement directions are available with compass directions going beyond those. If you can find the abandoned house that is a good first move. The tannery is best avoided unless you can get a sword or two before attempting it.
