Hello,

You know what we usually say about backups in computer science: you never realize it doesn't work until you really need it.

That being said, you are right, DNS problems doesn't make you lose data. The problem is something else. Perhaps just a disk crash. In which case both the host and agNet administrators should have said the truth from the beginning. There's no shame, it can happen from time to time unfortunately.

> How much spac would you be looking for everything, audiogames.net does not host any or many files itself.

Exact; there aren't any large audio or video files as far as I know. I don't know that it takes that much space. I'm not administrator, but I would say less than 5 gigabyte for the database containing the 500 game entry records and all forum posts since 15 years. Most hostings nowadays offer largely more than enough. Perhaps the more critical point is bandwidth usage given the number of daily visitors, many hosts limit it.

In fact most of those who are running online games on a server could certainly host it. We could do it on the playroom's server for example. Other people like Aprone, Oriol or those owning AlterAeon, audiogame archive, etc. could certainly, too. Dark, Sender, Richard and others, don't hesitate to ask the community if you are in difficulty
