HI guys. First a little pre-story. My name is Nail and i am a totally
blind man. I do like sports and all that goes with it. Try to follow the
NHL, MLB and NFL as much as i can. And sure i do love video games.
Especially sports simulators. Like 'em cause of their sound and the
commentaries. So my goal is to find either a PC copy of one of the
following games, such as NFL, NHL, FIFA, MLB. No matter what year it is.
All i want to do is to be able to play any of those games with out much
of help from sighted people. So i suppose it shoud probably bean
emulator program that i could use to play games produced for play
station or X- box. Why not the pc games? Well, as far as i know a lot of
the stuff you do on games produced for PC in settings is controlled by
the mouse. And it would be a problem for me. Now if i was using some
kind of an emulator program that would let me play games designed for X-
box or the play station, i suppose maybe those could be controlled
somehow via keyboard, cause originaly X-box and the play station both
use joy sticks. So i think if using a joystick you could at least
memorize how many times you press to the left or to the right or up or
down to change such and such settings of the game. See the last time i
really tried to play and NHL game was around2002 or something like that.
My sighted brother would set the game up for me by leveling all the
controls so that the other team playing against me wouldn't be too
strong and fast. And that way i could play the game and my team which at
the moment was Pittsburgh Penguins would play pretty good all season
long. Now the stupidity of all was the fact that after each period and
after each and every game in order to advance to the next period or game
you had to operate with the mouse by pressing the needed buttons. So i
always had to ask my brother for the assistance. I sure did see him
playing the NHL games that came out later, but i, myself wasn't able to
play those because there was no way to level the other teams strength
with my team, so i would basically always loose. Pretty much the same
way i played the NBA 1998 on PC. It was a little better for me. Cause my
brother would set everything up for me and i could play a few games in a
row. The only thin i needed to do is to tab enter key a few times after
each game and that way i kept advancing to the next game of the season.
It still was a bit difficult to play FIFA games. I think they are pretty
tough to handle for a totally blind person, but it is only a matter of
giving it a try. So guys would like to get some thoughts on how to get
this done. And please don't suggest me any emulators such as sega or
geneses. I would like to play games that do have a lot of talking and
commentary in them, so that i could know what is going on around. Right
now i have a laptop with windows 10 on it, and could install if
suggested some kind of an emulator.
