Hi. Make sure you turn the scanner on before starting kurzweil. I don't have any personal experience with the scanner. I would call tech support.

So I went in the menus, Chose, scanning, And made sure the opticbook twain was their. Interestingly enough, if I went to the opticbook from the system tray, and chose settings, the thing would start to process the text, and then start the scan.
