Dan,
We had this problem at FedEx some time ago. Our I T people discovered it
was a sound card issue. Apparently, the sound cards in older machines
don't work well with later versions of Jaws.
We had to order and install newer cards and the problem went away
immediately.
But before you go that route, I suggest that you test your sound source to
make sure that there isn't distortion in the output of other programs. If
there is, then the issue is an internal one rather than an incompatibility
with Jaws.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] distortion with jaws;

Does anyone have any ideas about what could be causing the jaws voice to be
distorted; if so, what can I do about it. thanks,

Dan
