Yes, I've also seen this happen. My trouble shooting techniques for things like this are:
1. Randomly move the mouse and hope that it is moved to the edge of the screen - if that does not work, 2. Insert+ESC - if that does not work, 3. Select all with Control+a then Insert+ESC - If that does not work, 4. Close the word processor and then restart it- if that does not work, 5. Shut the computer down and restart it.
