On my Toshiba laptop, I can turn the mouse pad on and off with the press of
a button just above the mouse pad. Once I was able to get the multimedia
touch panel (located above the keyboard) turned off, I fell in love with my
computer.

Hi Annette,

Thank you very much for your info on the FN + number row keystrokes. She
has an down arrow on the 3 key, & an up arrow on the 4 key. We were hoping
that was what these keys were used for but, didn't know what other key to
use in conjunction with them. These keystrokes along with the FN key + up /
down arrows, if they will work on this laptop, will be her best bet for
changing her volume level on the fly until she learns to navigate this
computer keyboard better. Thank you so much. Take care.
Mike
P.S. I was able to turn off her touch pad & that did eliminate a whole bunch
of confusion, to say the least! LOL

If you find that her new Toshiba laptop has a touch panel for multimedia
and
other functions, she can call Toshiba and they can assist her in turning
it
  off.

  Subject: [Blind-Computing] Toshiba Laptop Question

  Hi All,

A friend has a TOSHIBA satellite L755 laptop computer, running Windows7
Home Premium, Jaws13 & the volume is very low. I have no laptop keyboard
skills & I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what keystrokes I need to use
to increase / decrease volume. This is a new computer as well & I need to
Tandem up on this computer with her. All help will be greatly
appreciated.
She does know her way around the keyboard a little bit but, has no clue
about volume keystrokes. Thank you all very much. Take care.
  Mike
