I just monkied around with msconfig again yesterday because my computer has
been running encredibly slow and registry booster has been popping up along
with an anoying update for acrobat or flash player or something. I thought I
could go in and uncheck those, but they weren't checked, so I checked them.
Wrong thing to do! Then my speech wouldn't come up and I ended up getting my
wife to come look and we finally got it fixed by going back in to msconfig and
going back to normal start-up.
At least, I hope that works.
oi!
I'm considering the windows 7 lap top thing, but I want this old machine with
xp home still available as I learn the new deal.
The old machine is not old enough to be such a pain!

Go into start menu and if you have it set to have the search
box come up start typing msconfig. When you get to it enter on it. control
tab to the start up tab and choose which ones you do not want to start. Do
not remove the important ones like system tray and such. You may have to
restart it after being I don't think win 7 asks you to. If you do not have
the search field come up go into run with windows r and type msconfig there.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Changing which programs load automatically

  Hi
I recall that sometime in the past I changed which programs were
loading automatically in my windows 7 computer. Now, I find that there are
more programs loading and I want to change this. Does anyone know how to
change these programs? I appreciate the help. O I am running JAWS 12.

  God bless,
  Mark
