It is stand alone and has a small key pad which is atached with a curly
telephone receiver type chord,
It has braille on the front of it which says
"The reading edge
a kurzweil reader
xerox imagingsystems
It's discontinued and in fact, I think it was discontinued when I bought it
used from a place in Anchorage Alaska some years ago. I was able to buy a card
to stick in it, which brought it up to more than just a demo version. Think it
has one of those 25 pen cerial ports on back, looks like it.
When I turn it on it says welcome to the reading edge, version 3 point 1 is
ready.

Is it a stand alone scanner? I am sorry I don't recognize it. If so I
would think you would use a USB cable? or parallel? I am going to look
it up and see if i can find out info about it i am now curious.

quick guide for her. She doesn't have the time to sit and read the entire

she wants to put into folders and it won't let her do it. She doesn't know the
new menu structure. I don't either for that matter. I tried FS's website and
all they have are PDF files which Jaws has a hard time reading. Any help would
be greatly appreciated. She is using windows 7 and Jaws 11. Wayne Scott
