Hi, Apparently I did something stupid because I lost my windows system sounds.
For example, I do not hear the window startup or shutdown sound when restarting or turning off my computer. Some other programs which uses windows system sound are not playing either.
I checked the control panel and press enter to hear the sound and everything appears to be in order. I can play my WAV and Mp3 files with no problem.
I also went to the system folder, then to media folder and played the various sounds without any problem.
I cannot figure out what to do from here. Any suggestion or guidance will greatly be appreciated! You know the expression you don't miss the water until the well runs dry? Well, you don't miss the windows sounds until you don't hear it anymore! Please help!
