Thanks for putting this up on your site under programs, I have had that
problem a time or two and that quick mix I couldn't seem to get it to do
what it's suppose to do, but this one from reading the instructions seems
very straight forward..

There is a program on the server called mute which will help you out if
you're using XP. Read the documentation for complete instructions. It
doesn't take an install just a short cut key is all.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] bad muting problem
We need some help; both my friend and I are blind; when on the computer,
all
of a sudden we will loose speech, windows sounds and everything else that
one could hear; when we find someone that can see to look at the screen we
find that the computer has muted itself; we have two questions; is there a
way that a blind person can un/mute the computer; and secondly, what would
make the computer just decide to mute; any help in this mater will be
appreciated. Thanks,
Dan
