Hi,
As I know, there are a few problems:
1. My friend told to me, that the braille displays as Alva aren't working
in 64 bit system, the drivers aren't.
2. Most of the software will run, but in 32 bit mode, 64 bit mode will
allowed to you run 32 application, but it will not take a effect.,
3. 64 bit system are better, they can use more ram, for example my 32 bit
XP or Vista didn't see more than 3 GB of ram and I had 4 GB there.
This experiences or knowledge I'm having, but it's depends on every
machine, because on every configuration the system is different.
With best regards,
Marek Durila

Make sure that all the software you plan to use on your system will support
64 bit. 64 bit is recommended for computers with 4 gigs of ram and up.
Also make sure that all devices like maybe your scanners printers etc.
support 64 bit and drivers are readily available or drivers will be
ainstalled by the O S as you cannot use third party uncertified drivers
anymore like in the past, to my knowledge.

Ok does this help? I have an Intel Pentium Core 2 Duo Processor running at
a
clock speed of 2.0GHZ. The cache is 1MB and the FSB whatever that is is
800MHZ.
