Hi Victor,
There are two checkboxes in the preferences under file types.
One, encue as default action checkbox
2. setup directory context menus, checkbox
Both of these boxes are unchecked by default, so, an un-install, and re-install of Winamp would be safer
than editing the registry, but if you want to, here's how.
Remember, you are on your own here, if you make a mistake.
The entry you are looking for is in the following location:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
You will need to locate
Winamp.file
and delete it, then close the registry.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Windows Vista Shell Help

Hi Folks,

How does one remove an entry in the shell menus.

I have a couple of shell extensions in my applications menu that I need to get rid of.

Specifically, two Winamp extensions that keep bugging me, even though I've turned them off in the Winamp preferences.

Include in Winamp, and Add to Winamp's Book mark list are the ones that are being activated as the default action, as opposed to opening the file the way it's supposed to do.

Anyone know how I can edit the shell extensions.

I have a feeling it's in the registry somewhere, but can anyone point me to where that might be?

Thanks.

Victor
