Hi Richard,
I do have some good news. I typed the name you gave me for the adapter in
to E-Bay and found one new in the package for $18 or there abouts. I thought
people on the list might find this a good resource also. Now I have to go place
my order before the run out. Smile.
Thank you.
God bless,
Mark

Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] Hard Drive Adapter
Hi Mark,
Yes, the data plug on this adapter is the same width as the one in the
computer,
and the power plug on the a/c adapter is the same size as the one in the
computer as well.
If you get this adapter, you will notice that the large plug on the end of
the UUSB cable is 2 sided,
and the side with the raised spot in the middle is the one for 3.5 hard
drives, the other side is for 2.5 hard drives.
You will see what I am talking about by comparing the plug to the one in
your computer,
or carefully examining the receptacle on the back of one of your hard
drives.

Hi Richard,
This sounds like just the thing I am looking for. One more question
about it though, on the plug that goes in to the hard drive how wide is it?
Is it one of those wide flat ones?
Thank you for all your help.
God bless,
Mark

I bought this item to read a failed laptop hard drive. My drive has a bad
sector would not boot to windows any longer. Chkdsk would not recover the
drive.
I even purchased and ran SpinRite software with no luck. I hooked my drive
to another windows computer using this product and was immediately able read
the drive and recover my data!

Got it to work on both a laptop and regular drives! I love this thing. My
only complaint is the instructions were lacking for a novice like myself. I
had
to figure that the Jumper settings are printed on the hard drive itself ,
and DEVICE 0 is the same as Master Mode. I have Windows 2000 and it did not
recognize
the drives at first. Do not restart your computer with it connected, mine
crashed and I had to play with the boot settings in Bios until my computer
booted
up again. What finally worked for me was after everything is hooked up and
it still is not recognized, unplug it from you computer at the USB port,
then
replug it in. That worked on every Drive I had.

This has worked for every HDD that I have tried it on. It is a great deal
for the price as well. Nothing bad to say whatsoever. As long as there are
no
drive lock passwords and the HDD works, this is a good tool for Desktop
Support.
