Raptor Observations: A slow start even with northerly winds, but surprisingly a big uptick in raptors after the slight winds changed to south. American Kestrels led the way by a large margin, folllord by Sharp-shinned and Broad-winged. A very good showing Merlin (11). Non-raptor Observations: Thanks to Chad for being the official counter today, and to Noel for assisting for most of the day, and to Hugh for helping in the afternoon. A good variety of passerines early this morning, and the eBird list can be found here: https://ebird.org/checklist/S272812600 Predictions: Northeast winds predicted for tomorrow, so lets hope this is the beginning of something good. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Chad Cornish ([email protected]) Holiday Beach Hawk Watch information may be found at: http://hbmo.ca/ More site information at hawkcount.org: https://hawkcount.org/siteinfo.php?rsite=100 -- Ontbirds and Birdnews are moderated email Listservs provided by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) as a service to all birders in Ontario.
