My apologies I thought I sent this Saturday evening. These are up to the
moment preliminary results from our CBC covering Oakville and Mississauga
with reports still coming in. The count was held on Saturday December 14.
Approximately 34 participants in 16 parties. Current total of birds
counted 28507

At this moment we have 82 species not counting the photographed Ancient
Murrelet from Bronte Harbour (we are counting it). Also new to our count
was a previously reported Black-and-white Warbler from Joshua Creek at the
Southeast Oakville Sewage Treatment Plant near Lakeshore and Winston
Churchhill. The continuing Northern Parula at Sedgewick Forest was found.
A Rusty Blackbird was photographed in Rattray Marsh. 4 Sandhill Crane were
also reported from Rattray (no details)'

The Credit River was frozen in many places. Day start calm cool and winds.
Wind and surf off the lake became brutal as day progressed. No snow cover
anywhere. We failed to record a single winter finch of an kind including
zero Pine Siskins or Purple Finches

Count week is looking to add at least 8 species including American Redstart
and Snowy Owl.
