We have cards and pamphlets, so come and talk to us. However, during times of high traffic, requiring extra focus and concentration, we would respectfully ask that everyone use their indoor voices and allow us to fulfill our mission to the best of our abilities. Thank you. Weather: Winds varied from SW-WNW and increased from morning to afternoon. Skies were spotless for the most part with only a few wispy cirrus clouds. The pressure dropped throughout the day. Raptor Observations: The highlight of the day was an adult American Goshawk (our 4th of the season)! flying directly over the count site in the morning! Two peregrine falcons also gave some good views circling close in front of us. A single golden eagle made an appearance as well. Although the main turkey vulture migration is over, a few stragglers still trickled through. Non-raptor Observations: Other than a flock of shorebirds that flew past, a few crows and the ever-present gulls, there was not a lot of non-raptor activity today. Predictions: Tomorrow looks somewhat promising with winds out of the northwest and increasing pressure throughout the day. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Jessie Fletcher ([email protected]) Detroit River Hawk Watch information may be found at: http://www.detroitriverhawkwatch.org More site information at hawkcount.org: https://hawkcount.org/siteinfo.php?rsite=285 Count data submitted via Dunkadoo - Project info at: https://dunkadoo.org/explore/detroit-river-international-wildlife-refuge/detroit-river-hawk-watch-fall-2023 -- Ontbirds and Birdnews are moderated email Listservs provided by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) as a service to all birders in Ontario.
