Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 15:00:00
Total observation time: 8 hours

Official Counter: Hugh Kent, Peter Veighey

Observers: Aldo Bertucci, Liz Kent, Peter Veighey

Visitors:
Big thanks again to Peter and Aldo who took over the Count in the
afternoon. Sorry you didn't see many raptors, but sometimes that's the way
it goes. Thanks to David and Jane for helping observing. It was good to
meet Neil and Brenda from Orangeville.

Weather:
All day was overcast with a moderate wind generally from the east. It
seemed to threaten rain all day and rained mid morning. Temperature
remained in high teens. Visibility was variable with rain frequently
passing us to the west.

Raptor Observations:
Only ten raptors today. Equal numbers of Sharp-shinned Hawks (3) and
American Kestrels (3). A single Peregrine provided the excitement by taking
a bird over the marsh.

Non-raptor Observations:
The songbirds made up for the lack of Raptors in spades with again good
numbers of warblers of 14 species in the trees around the Tower. Tree
Swallows (322) were again hawking insects over the marsh. Great Egret
numbers seem to be reducing. Four Rose-breasted Grosbeaks were around the
Tower, together with good numbers of Northern Flickers (10). The list is at
https://ebird.org/checklist/S150924836

Predictions:
Likely to be a similar day tomorrow. Given the low number of Hawks today we
will be taking a day off.
