Ontario Rare Bird Alert for the week starting June 23, 2023

BLACK-NECKED STILT (Middlesex): The family group continued this week at
Strathroy Sewage Lagoons.

American Avocet (Chatham-Kent): Blake Mann photographed one at Zion Rd
south of Hwy 3 on June 27.
American Avocet (Essex): Cameron Chevalier photographed one at the tip of
Point Pelee on June 28.

Laughing Gull (Essex): Cameron Chevalier reported an immature bird off the
tip of Point Pelee on June 26.

Franklin's Gull (Durham): The young bird found by Dave Worthington at
Whitby Harbour on May 28 remained to at least June 24.
Franklin's Gull (Essex): Jeremy Hatt photographed one in Kingsville on June
25 that was present again on June 27.
Franklin's Gull (Northumberland): A young bird was found by Jeremy Logan at
the Port Hope pier on June 25 and remained until at least June 28.

Black Vulture (Niagara): Up to three birds were present this week in
Queenston.

Mississippi Kite (Essex): Dave and Doug Martin reported one at the tip of
Point Pelee on June 29.

Lark Sparrow (Essex): The bird found by Cathy Lapain at McAuliffe Woods in
Tecumseh on May 31 remained to at least June 28 with the second bird also
present again.

Kirtland's Warbler (Simcoe): At least a single male continued again this
week at the Packard Tract near Barrie. If visiting, please be conservative
in your reporting and be aware that playback "lures" are active at the
south end of the property in an attempt to attract more individuals. For
