Wind began stiff WNW and shifted to WSW in the last few hours. Raptor Observations: Aside from local Red-tails, not a buteo in sight. The onset of WSW meant lots of lift for gulls and eagle at the cliff edge, but the hoped-for Peregrines did not appear. Non-raptor Observations: Non-raptor notables included 9 Tundra Swans offshore and an adult Red-headed Woodpecker flying east; eBird list here: https://ebird.org/checklist/S120256657 Predictions: Robust WSW predicted for much of the day -- Peregrines? Maybe. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Chris Burris ([email protected]) Hawk Cliff Hawkwatch information may be found at: http://www.ezlink.ca/~thebrowns/HawkCliff/index.htm More site information at hawkcount.org: https://hawkcount.org/siteinfo.php?rsite=392 -- Ontbirds and Birdnews are moderated email Listservs provided by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) as a service to all birders in Ontario.
