Alternating bands of dun and heavy cloud throughout the day. The site appeared to be in a wind tension zone wherein it was WSW down low and WNW higher up for most of the day, only shifting toward a more productive NW during the last couple of hours of the count. Raptor Observations: Pretty sparse until 2pm or so when the wind picked up a consistent N component low and high. Non-raptor Observations: Please see eBird checklist for full species breakdown: https://ebird.org/checklist/S119062372 Predictions: WNW-NW with sun and clouds are forecast until early afternoon when the wind is expected to shift to something more southerly. Expect better numbers if it's drier early. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Chris Burris ([email protected]) Hawk Cliff Hawkwatch information may be found at: http://www.ezlink.ca/~thebrowns/HawkCliff/index.htm More site information at hawkcount.org: https://hawkcount.org/siteinfo.php?rsite=392 -- Ontbirds and Birdnews are moderated email Listservs provided by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) as a service to all birders in Ontario.
