Weather: Temps ranged from 16C to 25C at count's end. Cloud cover began around 60%, dropped to nil, then rebounded slightly to 10%. Winds were mostly W, with a hoped-for northerly component never quite arriving -- in fact, things were WSW by count's end. Raptor Observations: Early in the season and the mostly west wind made for a pretty slim count. Non-raptor Observations: 40 species recorded from the new Hawk Cliff platform today, including 13 warblers (most notably, 1 Canada and at least 5 Cape Mays). Predictions: A clear day with a modest NW/NNW to start... perhaps the numbers will be a bit better. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Chris Burris ([email protected]) Hawk Cliff Hawkwatch information may be found at: http://www.ezlink.ca/~thebrowns/HawkCliff/index.htm More site information at hawkcount.org: https://hawkcount.org/siteinfo.php?rsite=392 -- Ontbirds and Birdnews are moderated email Listservs provided by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) as a service to all birders in Ontario.
