BLACK-BELLIED WHISTLING-DUCK (Nipissing): Quinten Wiegersma photographed one with a flock of Canada Geese flying over Lake Travers in Algonquin Park on the morning of May 26. King Eider (Toronto): A young male was off Tommy Thompson Park May 20-22 and briefly off Ashbridge's Bay Park on May 22. Eared Grebe (Chatham-Kent): The Erieau bird continued to May 20. Eared Grebe (Rainy River): Peter Kyne and Bill Gilmour photographed two birds at Rainy River Sewage Lagoons on May 23 and then five birds there on May 26. Eurasian Collared-Dove (Essex): Riley Walsh found one on Pelee Island near Stone Road Alvar on May 24. Yellow Rail (Northumberland): The bird off the Marsh Boardwalk at Presqu'ile was last reported May 20. BLACK-NECKED STILT (Middlesex): The two birds found by Bill Lindley at Strathroy Sewage Lagoons on May 12 remained again all week. American Avocet (Chatham-Kent): Steve Charbonneau found five birds at Erieau on May 21 that remained just long enough for a few others to see them. Hudsonian Godwit (Prescott and Russell): Jon Ruddy found one in Embrun on the night of May 22. Marbled Godwit (Lambton): One bird was found at Thedford Sewage Lagoons on May 23 by Ed Lavender. Note that this site remains closed to public access. Baird's Sandpiper (Niagara): Gina Turone found one at Wainfleet Wetlands on May 20. Baird's Sandpiper (Ottawa): Christian Artuso found one in a flooded field near North Gower on May 22. Red-necked Phalarope (Chatham-Kent): Greg Stuart and Kevin Seymour found three birds at Blenheim Sewage Lagoons on May 20; two birds remained to May 23 and one bird to May 25. Red-necked Phalarope (Timiskaming): Mark Milton and Michael Werner found two birds at the New Liskeard Sewage Lagoons May 22 that remained to at least May 23. Parasitic Jaeger (Toronto): Many observers had great looks at an adult at Colonel Sam Smith Park on May 25. Laughing Gull (Chatham-Kent): Kevin Gevaert found one at Rondeau on May 20 that was seen later the same day in Erieau. What was presumably the same bird was seen in the area again on May 23 and 24. Franklin's Gull (Leeds and Grenville): Bruce Di Labio found one from the Chimney Island lookout on May 22. Franklin's Gull (Norfolk): Robert Baumander reported one from Hastings Drive on May 26. Franklin's Gull (Ottawa): Kiah Jasper found one off Britannia CA on May 26. Franklin's Gull (Toronto): Jean Iron found one off Colonel Sam Smith Park on May 26. Arctic Tern (Leeds and Grenville): At least eight birds were off the Thousands Island Parkway near Grenadier Island, found by Gerard Phillips on May 24. Up to four birds were reported by others May 25-26. Arctic Tern (Northumberland): Barbara O'Neill reported one off Presqu'ile on May 25. Arctic Tern (Ottawa): Up to 16 birds were reported off Britannia CA on May 26, viewed by many observers. Neotropic Cormorant (Essex): One immature bird was reported flying past Leamington on May 26. Neotropic Cormorant (Prince Edward): Paul Jones found and photographed an adult at Prince Edward Point on May 20 that remained to at least May 23. Snowy Egret (Norfolk): The bird found May 15 at Big Creek NWA remained to at least May 21. YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON (Niagara): An adult was photographed at the upper falls on May 23. YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON (Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry): Heather Lodge photographed an adult at Grays Creek in Cornwall on May 21 that was refound by a few observers on May 23. Black Vulture (Essex): Kevin Seymour and Greg Stuart found and photographed one over Hillman Marsh on May 20. Diane Naluzny reported one past Leamington Harbour on May 21. Black Vulture (Niagara): One bird was reported this week from Queenston (on May 23). Black Vulture (Oxford): Scott Gillingwater photographed one northeast of Woodstock on May 20. Mississippi Kite (Essex): Chris Burris photographed one perched at Hillman Marsh on May 21. The same day at least a couple of different observers reported one over Point Pelee. Mississippi Kite (Prince Edward): Richard Guillet photographed one at Point Petre on May 21. Swainson's Hawk (Bruce): A young bird was seen on May 20 at Cabot Head by Stephane Menu, then later the same day from Dyer's Bay Rd by Jarmo Jalava, Bruce Edmunds, James Turland, and Becky Grieveson. The next day it was found at Tobermory Sewage Lagoons by Ken Burrell where it was seen by several observers. CASSIN'S KINGBIRD (Algoma): Derek Neufeld photographed one at Tabor Cove on May 24. Western Kingbird (Rainy River): Peter Kyne and Bill Gilmour photographed one near Harris Hill on May 25. EURASIAN TREE SPARROW (Algoma): One bird was visiting a feeder in the Bar River area on May 20 that continued to at least May 22. Orchard Oriole (THUNDER BAY): James Barber found one at Chippewa Lagoons on May 22 that remained to at least May 25. PAINTED BUNTING (Norfolk): A female type bird was reported flying by Long Point Provincial Park on May 21. Summer Tanager (THUNDER BAY): A young male visited a feeder in Neebing on May 26.
