Cool but sunny weather greeted birders this morning. Perhaps not
surprisingly, the light north winds did not result in an influx of birds
into the Park overnight. Nevetheless, several species continued to attract
attention, most notably a Yellow-throated Warbler on Tilden, 3 Prothonotary
Warblers on the Woodland Nature Trail, and an Eared Grebe off the east side
near the Tip shuttle drop off location. Other nice birds included
Yellow-throated Vireo, White-eyed Vireo, and Red-headed Woodpeckers. An
American Avocet was spotted briefly south of Hillman Marsh, which flew
north, so hopefully it will be refound. There are still lots of birds to
move through in the coming days and weeks!

Good birding from your hike leaders Karl Konze, William Konze, Tim Arthur,
Dana Latour, Pete Read, Emma Burbidge, and Eric Baldo!
