Weather: A mostly cloudy day with some sun poking through now and then. Winds were moderate from the E. Temps got to a high of 19C but felt warmer with the humidex. The humidity stayed fairly high during the count period barely dropping below 80% at all. Raptor Observations: A small flight today with just 113 birds tallied but with some interesting species including more Peregrines (4) and a few N. Goshawks (6) as well. It's nice to see some species variety which is typical of October flights. Non-raptor Observations: None reported. Predictions: There is several days stretch going forward with winds to be forecast from a a southerly direction which wi;; not be helpful in bringing birds down to the Lake Erie shoreline. I suspect whatever flight occurs over this period of time will be inland if the birds move at all. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Dave Brown ([email protected]) Hawk Cliff Hawkwatch information may be found at: http://www.ezlink.ca/~thebrowns/HawkCliff/index.htm More site information at hawkcount.org: https://hawkcount.org/siteinfo.php?rsite=392 -- Ontbirds and Birdnews are moderated email Listservs provided by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) as a service to all birders in Ontario.
