Visitors:
We thank today's observers for their help and those interested in the
ongoing Hawk Count. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, access to the top level
of Hawk Tower is limited to hawk counters and qualified observers only. The
2nd and lower levels are open to the public practising COVID-19 safe
precautions (social distancing). Thank you for your understanding and
involvement.

Weather:
Similar to yesterday, today was mostly sunny (some clouds) with
temperatures starting in the mid teens and raising to the mid-high 20s.
Wind fluctuated between southerly and souther-westerly with it dying down
towards the afternoon.

Raptor Observations:
Another good day for Sharpies with species count reaching over 200 raptors
throughout the day. It was also a good day for falcons with continuing high
numbers of American Kestrel (77) and Merlin (9) during the mid morning and
early afternoon. 3 Peregrines also made an appearance. Turkey vulture
movement continues.

Non-raptor Observations:
Slow day for non-raptor diversity, with songbird diversity on the decline.
Blue Jay movement remains high with today's number being approx. 7800.
Waterfowl diversity remains high on the marsh and duck numbers continue to
increase. Monarch numbers lower then yesterday's. First sparrow of the
season has been reported woohooo!

Predictions:
Temperatures tomorrow are expected to be similar, however less cloud cover
is expected. Most importantly, winds are expected to be norther-easterly
which could promote the currently low buteo movement.
