Hi everyone. Sorry for the late news but Chip Weseloh reported seeing a juvenile (white) Little Blue Heron yesterday (2:30pm) at the George Merry Wetland on Hwy 38 in Kingston. Unfortunately, there is absolutely no access at this site and the viewing that is available from Hwy 38 is limited. The wetland is located just north of the 401, about half a kilometer north along Hwy38 (44.293420, -76.574788) near Cordukes Rd. This is junction 611 on the 401. There is space for 1 or maybe 2 cars at the gated entrance to this location (on a very busy road). Needless to say, please be very careful here and be sure to avoid blocking the highway.
I haven't spoken directly to Chip and, although I assume juvenile Snowy Egret has been eliminated, I have no further details. Mark. Mark D.
