Weather: Lots of cloud cover to start and then it all disappeared and we had mostly blue skies. Winds were non-existent to start and then light from the SW. Raptor Observations: A much smaller flight today with just 175 birds counted. However, it was definitely a day for the falcons as they made use of the lift created at the cliff edge by the SW winds.... with another good flight of Peregrines (20). Merlins (7) and Am. Kestrels (103). Non-raptor Observations: A report of both Pileated Woodpecker and E. Wood Pewee. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Dave Brown ([email protected]) Hawk Cliff Hawkwatch information may be found at: http://www.ezlink.ca/~thebrowns/HawkCliff/index.htm More site information at hawkcount.org: http://hawkcount.org/siteinfo.php?rsite=392 _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
