Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 9 hours

Official Counter: Tom Bolohan

Observers: Bill Read, Keith Sealy, Mac McAlpine, Ronnie Goodhand,
                  Tom Stewart

Visitors:
Lots of visitors today for the final day of the Open House weekends. A huge
thanks to Tom B, Keith, Ronnie, Mac, Bill R and Tom S for getting today's
count done.

Weather:
Lots of cloud to start then breaking out to clear skies. Strong S to SW
winds for most of the count period. Temps still quite warm starting at 21C
and getting to a high of 29C.

Raptor Observations:
Well it was no surprise that strong SW winds brought several Peregrines (8)
and a good number of Am. Kestrels (250) zipping along the cliff edge using
the strong updraft created by the wind hitting the cliff and being
deflected upwards. Other species were on the move today as well and a total
of 315 raptors were tallied for the day.

Non-raptor Observations:
A good movement of Blue Jays was reported along with good numbers of
Monarchs.

Predictions:
Winds are forecast to continue strong from the SW for most of Monday which
could setup a day very similar to today. There could be more Peregrines
especially as we approach their prime time at end of Sept and start of Oct.
