Ontbirds subscribers: I just received a text from Denise Smith; she shared an image of birders lingering directly behind her yard this morning. In talking with her, I came to realize that she has switched her tune and it's just about the beginning of the end. The incident this morning appears to be the straw that (nearly) broke the camel's back; I managed to slip my hand in there, as a brace, just in time! I'll continue to chat with her. Whether or not her reaction makes sense to us, birders, is irrelevant, of course (i.e. "well, we are on NCC property, so, really, what can she say?") She mentioned that her neighbour is getting "grumpier and grumpier" with all the birder traffic, as well. In my opinion, without question, those feeders are coming down if her privacy is breached again. It is IMPERATIVE that you try to hide your frame and stay out of view of Denise's home. She runs a daycare and has an open-concept home. Try your best to respect her direct neighbour's (to the N) privacy, as well. I recommend getting in your visitation to the site ASAP. I will report back with more on this either later today, or tomorrow.
