John Barnes and Bob HB were also at the tower today. Weather: It was a warm start to the day with temperatures at 10.9 C. The winds were blowing from the due south all day. Humidity was fairly high at around 85% for much of the count today. It was mostly cloudy with the sun making brief appearances throughout different points in the day. Raptor Observations: It was a very slow day for raptor migration. What was observed was often far to the north. A few Sharp-shinned Hawks and Coopers Hawks were seen flying by. No buteos were observed today. A Merlin powered by the tower in the morning, making this the highlight of the day. Non-raptor Observations: Upon arrival in the morning, there was a large group of Rusty Blackbirds in the surrounding trees. Others were also observed throughout the day. Large groups of Ceder Waxwings and Pine Siskin were also observed today. Not many American Crows were moving through compared to yesterdays totals. Tomorrow is expected to be another warm day with winds from the southwest and highs of 11 C.
