Weather: It was a mostly sunny day with light to moderate winds that began from the northwest and finished from the west. The temperature ranged from 5 - 9 C and visibility was good all day. Raptor Observations: (3) Golden Eagles were observed today. A light morph Rough-legged Hawk flew by the tower at close range in the morning. Turkey Vulture numbers (946) were the highest they have been in well over a week. (173) Red-tailed Hawks were also coming through in good numbers today. (87) Sharp-shinned Hawks, (20) Red-shouldered Hawks, (9) Northern Harriers, (7) Bald Eagles and (3) Coopers Hawks were observed. (2) American Kestrels, (2) Merlin and a Peregrine Falcon all flew past the tower today. An Osprey is still around. Non-raptor Observations: A Tufted Titmouse was heard singing first thing in the morning. It did not seem as though there were as many ducks around the marsh today. There was not much activity in general below the tower today aside from a few Northern Cardinals.
