At 5:30 pm I found a Bohemian Waxwing with a small flock of robins, in a fruit
tree on the north edge of the golf course. There isn't much fruit left on the
tree, but there are a few others in town, crabapples and such, and the bird may
stick around for a few days. Smooth Rock Falls is in northern Ontario, between
Cochrane and Kapuskasing. To get to the tree where the Waxwing was today, turn
north off hwy 11 onto Rd. 634 towards Fraserdale. At the stop sign, go straight
instead of turning right towards Fraserdale. The golf course will be on your
left.
