While a great number of Ontario birders are at Pelee this weekend for the Ontario Field Ornithologists' Convention <http://ofo.ca/convention/index> , some may fancy a trip through Long Point on their way to and from.
The Long Point Bird Observatory sightings board is updated to September 28 - . Highlights from this past week include Western Kingbird (still present this afternoon) along Front Rd. between Clear Creek and Coves Rd.), and six record-early Brant September 27. Not listed on the sightings board was a Yellow-breasted Chat and Connecticut Warbler at the Tip this morning. To get to Long Point, follow the birds, or head south on Hwy 59 from the 401 until you hit the lake. Visitors are always welcome at the Old Cut Research Station, and daily birding hikes depart Old Cut one hour after sunrise.
