Every year the Merlins nest somewhere close to our place. This year I have not seen them often and wondered if they were gone. Sigh. But then, much to my surprise, while drinking a lovely Chianti after a meal of salmon and risotto, who flies in; the Merlins! Beautiful pair swooped in low over the yard and landed in a neighborhood yard where they typical nest. Smiles all round.
The cycle continues and hopefully long after I'm gone.
