I'm pleased to announce that OFO is sponsoring a camp for young birders
aged 13-18 in Algonquin Park the last week of August. This follows on from
last year's successful pilot. Counsellors include Jeff and Angela
Skevington, myself, Jeremy Bensett, Ian Shanahan, and Jamie Spence.

The OFO Young Birders Camp is an immersive birding and naturalist
experience for teenagers aged 13-18. The overnight camp will take place the
last week of August when biting insects have died down and fall migration
is peaking.

Campers will stay at the Wildlife Research Station, a private research
facility situated in a forest beside a lake off Hwy 60. Campers will learn
about the biodiversity of Algonquin Park, wildlife research, nature
interpretation and increase their observation skills.

Daily activities will include birding, herping, botanizing and mammal
tracking. Campers will have the opportunity to join park naturalists to
scout wolf packs, private tours of active research projects, go mothing and
practice photography and drawing. Each day will include free time for
private exploration, swimming and canoeing.

The cost of the camp is $700 for the full week.

Space is limited to 14 campers. To register please go to:
