This afternoon around 1600 we observed and photographed a White-winged
Dove under one of our bird feeders at 203 Old Orchard Road in
Sandhurst Shores.

Interestingly this bird has undoubtedly been here for several weeks
since some time ago I briefly heard a dove giving what I thought was
an odd call for a Mourning Dove. But I was unable to see any odd dove
and did not hear repeated calls.

This morning while filling the feeders I again heard an odd dove call
once.

While birders are welcome to check our feeders in the back yard, I
suggest that you approach from the south side of the house. All the
doves are skittish and fly when someone enters the back yard.

We don't monitor the feeders much since we had to locate them in the
back of the yard to help prevent birds flying into the windows of the
sunroom so this bird could have shown up at them before. It would
perhaps be best to wander the streets in the neighbourhood to look for
or listen for this bird. It goes without saying that this is a
residential neighbourhood so discretion is required when parking and
definitely do not wander into other residents yards.
