Observation start time: 08:30:00
Observation end time: 16:30:00
Total observation time: 8 hours

Official Counter: Sean Jenniskens

Observers: Ed Pitts, Jim McCoy, Michael Williamson

Visitors:
A big thank you to those who stayed out through the cold temps and mediocre
bird numbers!

Weather:
Moderate north winds throughout the day, with a sky varying from pure blue
to patchy white. A very chilly day as well.

Raptor Observations:
It was a moderate day today, though not as good as initially expected with
the north winds. Aside from the 7 Golden Eagles and dark morph Roughie,
there were two other very interesting birds. One being a very late immature
Broad-winged Hawk, and two being an apparent falconry escapee Red-tailed
Hawk. This Red-tail came by low by the tower with another Red-tail, and the
3 of us on the tower immediately noticed something streaming behind it.
Upon closer inspection, we noticed a pair of jess's along with a ~2ft
tether streaming behind it! Very interesting sighting.

Non-raptor Observations:
A flock of 17 Sandhill Cranes migrated by high late in the day. A total of
1690 American Crows were counted throughout the day migrating. Full eBird
checklist can be found here:

Predictions:
Southeast winds throughout the day with a chance of flurries in the
morning.
