Weather: Relatively light southerly winds greeted us all day. Not a wink of sunlight, and you could feel the dampness of the air in you bones. Raptor Observations: Relatively slow day today, highlight was a dark morph Roughie. The last 3hours of count only yielded 5 raptors. Non-raptor Observations: A total of 12 duck species were observed from the tower today, in big orders. Lots of Am. Coots as well (1550). About 330 American Crows were counted...though they were going the wrong way.. 112 Horned Lark were counted, as well as 113 American Robins. Also 78 American Goldfinch and 13 Pine Siskins. Full eBird checklist can be found here: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist/S40254797?share=true Predictions: Rain and strong southerly winds. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Sean Jenniskens ([email protected]) Holiday Beach Conservation Area information may be found at: http://hbmo.ca/ More site information at hawkcount.org: http://hawkcount.org/siteinfo.php?rsite=100 _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
