Observation start time: 08:00:00
Observation end time: 14:00:00
Total observation time: 6 hours

Official Counter: Cindy Isenhoff

Observers: Chuck Sharbaugh, Dan Lumm, Larry Ludwicki, Olga Klekner

Visitors:
We had various visitors to the tower today with a few regulars who spent
all or part of the day with me. Dan Lumm, his sister Paula from Waterford
MI and Chuck Sharbaugh also from MI spent the day with me...Thanks so much
for all your help in keeping track of the migrants who seemed to claim no
real flight path--but were coming from both sides and up the middle.

Weather:
Complete cloud cover today with chilly temperatures and light winds from
the W in the morning, shifting between WNW and NW later in the day.
Temperatures ranged from 5.4C to 7.8C, winds were never over 5.5 kmph.

Raptor Observations:
Our resident Bald Eagles were in the marsh this morning, one of the adults
swooped low and grabbed a small duck of some sort and flew off while Chuck
and I watched. Also present today was the Osprey which has been hanging
around. A nice all around day for migrating hawks with 11 species
migrating through. Only one Golden Eagle today very distant to the
north...thanks to Dan for finding this in the spotting scope!

Non-raptor Observations:
Mixed Blackbird flocks were moving in big numbers early in the day (1470).
A few groups of Blue Jays (80)moved through early, and some large American
Crow flocks (1229) filled out the afternoon. We still had both
Ruby-crowned, and Golden-crowned Kinglets in the shrubs around the tower.
One Yellow-rumped Warbler was noted as well.

Predictions:
Weather will be much the same for tomorrow, but no N component to the wind
predicted
