Tonight there were not only the Red-necked Phalaropes that have been reported
the last few nights, but also an Eared Grebe that was first spotted this
morning.

As with the phalaropes, the grebe liked the north cell (the one on the left),
and swam around with the Wood Ducks and phalaropes around the little grass
island. It didn't dive much, so it allowed for easy viewing. The grebe is
likely the same one spotted in Exeter last week by the BBC. A great find!

The Red-necked Phalaropes have been hanging out in the same vicinity as when I
last saw them on Sunday. The little grass island in the north cell and the
surrounding area is a good place to start your search.

The Strathroy Sewage Lagoons can be accessed without a permit or climbing a
fence off Pike Rd, which is just south-west of Strathroy (SW of London).

Directions:

Off Highway 402: Take exit 65, head south on Centre Rd/81, turn right onto
Mullifarry Dr, turn left onto Pike Rd, sewage lagoons will be on the left hand
side of the road (look for the little parking lot)

Off Egremont Dr/22: head south on Centre Rd/81, turn right onto Mullifarry Dr,
turn left onto Pike Rd, sewage lagoons will be on the left hand side of the
road (look for the parking lot)
