Small group of 8 Red Crossbills out in the open, preening themselves in tops of 
dead trees near the small stream on Bull Road in Baltimore, 5pm Saturday August 
19.
Good scope views – one streaky juv., one first year male close to adult 
plumage, the rest female-looking.
Fairly silent group – only a few soft contact calls. “Type” unknown.

Directions: Go north approx. 8 km on County Road 45 from Exit 474 on Hwy.401.
At the north end of the hamlet of Baltimore, Bull Road is the first road 
running east a short distance north of the Baltimore Garden Centre which is on 
the east side of CR 45.
