This evening, while searching for the reported Northern Mockingbird, I stumbled across six Upland Sandpipers. While Upland Sandpipers are known to regularly occur in Middlesex, seeing this many at once is quite the treat.
Also in the area were nine Dickcissels, including two females. They are likely nesting. http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist/S38226163 Location: Cassidy Rd between W Corner Dr. and Ausable Dr. I accessed it off of Elginfield Dr. You drive for about 2 minutes before you reach cow pastures on both sides of the road. This is where I saw the birds.
