Having heard of a couple of reports of the Dickcissel not being seen west of Exeter I decided to take a quick run out for a look. I live about 6 miles away in Exeter. As soon as I arrived, I observed the male was singing about 50 feet east of the reported bushes. You may have to be patient and please remain in your vehicle. But the bird, at least the male is still here.Huron St west between Goshen Line and Bronson Line. Spell check made it Bronsen in original post. Sorry for any confusion. The habitat seems sparse, no hayfields in the vicinity.
